You can’t forge your own future until you understand your past… All Kayla’s ever wanted to do was get out of Ohio and be free from her mom’s suffocating clutches, so when the opportunity comes along for her to visit her grandmother in California comes up, she can’t get there fast enough. She’s even able to take along her best friend, Brittney, who has her own problems that she’s trying to escape. While visiting her grandmother, Kayla finds an old diary belonging to her mom. She knows it’s wrong to snoop, but she figures the diary could be the key to unlocking her mom’s past and help her finally understand why she’s so strict and overprotective
